Group Ride Receiver.
Pair with a compatible TREAD sports and motorsports device or zūmo XT satnav and stay connected with your friends by sharing your location, as well as using predefined messaging, route tracking and more! Connects up to 20 riders without the need for a cell phone signal.

Range from 6 to 14 km. Location sharing is updated every 2.5 seconds.
Once set up, it's actually very simple. One person creates a group, and at that point other trackers can search for an available group.
Garmin Group Ride Tracker Messages - In addition to showing your location, you can also send (standard) messages to the group. These are a list of standard messages, such as "Okay, I have to stop, I'm following you, etc." There's also the option to share your position.
